New Episodes Planned for Super WHY!

If you haven't already caught some of Super WHY!'s new episodes, stay tuned on Friday, January 29 for "Super WHY! and The Cookbook" where Whyatt wants to bake Baby Joy a special birthday cake - but he doesn't know how! Super Why and his friends soar into a new kind of book - a cookbook - and get the information they need from a rhyming chef with a silly sense of humor as well as a recipe for fun! In the end, Whyatt learns how to cook up the perfect birthday for his little sister.
Just a week later on February 5 comes "Super WHY! and The Big Game" where Whyatt wants to play baseball better, but he keeps missing the ball. The superhero readers jump into The Big Game and join some fairytale heroes gearing up for their big soccer match against their storybook foes. With the help of Super Why and his friends, Cinderella and her team work on their game skills to prevent the Big Bad Wolf's team from huffing, puffing and blowing them right off the field!

Special Pokemon Download at GameStop

Pokémon fans who bring their Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl or Pokémon Platinum Version and their DS or DSi to GameStop on Saturday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 14 will be able to wirelessly add a special Pikachu-colored version of Pichu to their Pokédex.
This unique Level 30 character comes equipped with charge and endure attacks as special moves Volt Tackle and Endeavor. This Pichu comes with the Held Item Everstone and is in a Poké Ball known as the Cherish Ball, a special Poké Ball exclusive to Pokémon distributed at events.
What's more, this Pichu holds a secret that will be revealed in the Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver games due on March 14. When you trade Pikachu-colored Pichu into one of those games, you'll be able to meet a new friend, Spiky-eared Pichu.

Starting Friday, January 29 through Saturday, Feb. 20, Toys"R"Us is accepting returns of used cribs, car seats, bassinets, strollers, travel systems, play yards, high chairs and toddler beds in exchange for a 25% savings on the purchase of any new baby item, in any of these product categories, from select manufacturers.

Get Your Game On!

Are you game? You better be as "Nancy Drew: The Model Mysteries" heads to Nintendo DS next month. The game is based on the three-book trilogy, “Model Crime,” “Model Menace” and “Model Suspect,” and features six mini-games, puzzles and search locations.

Konami and Cartoon Network Enterprises are also bringing popular boys action property "Ben 10" to the downloadable game space. Action-puzzle platformer "Ben 10 Alien Force: The Rise of Hex" will be available on Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 and Nintendo WiiWare.

"Alice Through The Looking Glass" heads to DVD

NBC's musical rendition of "Alice Through the Looking Glass" is headed to DVD on February 9. The 1966 adaptation of the novel features well-known actors including Agnes Moorehead, Tom and Dick Smothers, Nanette Fabray, Ricardo Montalban and Jack Palance. Special features include interview with producer Bob Wynn.


Toys"R"Us raises funds, hopes for kids

Toys“R”Us, Inc. raised more than $3.4 million and nearly 335,000 toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in 2009. The retailer also partnered with basketball great Shaquille O’Neal, nicknamed “Shaq-A-Claus,” on a "Join Shaq Give Back" campaign on Facebook. Toys"R"Us donated $1 worth of toys for every new Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us Facebook fan who joined throughout the nine-week campaign.

Nick has a knack with kids

A decade of Dora the Explorer. That's right! Nickelodeon's popular Latina heroine turns 10 with new games and toys including the interactive and bilingual Day to Night Dollhouse and the all-new singing and dancing We Did It Dora Doll from Fisher-Price. Entering his second decade is SpongeBob SquarePants with new educational and interactive toys.
Destined to be a hit with kids, Nick releases "The Last Airbender" based on its animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender." SpinMaster will create a line of action figures, vehicles, playsets and more to support the summer release.
All these toys will be on display at this year's Toy Fair (Feb. 14-17 at Javits Convention Center). I'll be there and will report back not only on these cool items, but many more that I'll be able to preview.

New manga series due from Stan Lee

Manga fans can get their hands on "Ultimo," a new series from Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment come February 2. The series is being written by the comic genius himself as well as Hiroyuki Takei, the creator of Shaman King. The story revolves around high school Yamato who finds Ultimo, a peculiar-looking puppet. Things only get stranger when Ultimo awakens and his archenemy, Vice shows up. Ultimo and Vice are Karakuri Dôji, the mechanical embodiment of pure good and pure evil, devoid of human emotions that can cloud one’s judgment. Their purpose: to battle to the death to prove once and for all whether good or evil is the most powerful force in the universe.

Pokemon.com has been relaunched with fans able to view animation, video games and the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The new site will introduce free online mini-games, episodes of the animated series, a fully interactive Pokédex, a “Pokémon Trainer Club” and all the latest news and more.

Make your friends green with envy and be the first to pick up Marvel Animation's "Planet Hulk" DVD and Blu-Ray Disc due on store shelves Feb. 2, 2010. The direct-to-video animated feature follows the Incredible Hulk as he's sent into exile on a strange alien world after being banished from Earth. But will he be the champion of this new planet?
